The NWWHC Basic Childbirth Education Workshop is a course designed to prepare expectant parents for labor, delivery, and postpartum care. This workshop offers essential building blocks to help navigate childbirth and new parenthood. It's ideal for families seeking a general introduction to the childbirth process at Swedish, including birth preferences, pain management options, basic newborn care, an introduction to breastfeeding, and tips on transitioning to parenthood.
For a more in-depth exploration of specific topics, consider additional classes on subjects like infant CPR, parenting styles, breastfeeding challenges, and preparing for unmedicated deliveries.

Northwest Women’s Healthcare does not bill insurance companies for childbirth education classes. Check with your insurance company to get details on the reimbursement amount. If your insurance company requests childbirth codes, please call our Billing office at (206) 832-0585, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm.
*If you are insured by Medicaid DSHS or Apple Health, please call our Billing office at the number above to discuss scheduling options.
Note: If there are not enough attendees, NWWHC reserves the right to reschedule or refund the class.
